Dieter Rams

I enjoyed the interview of Dieter Rams on designboom.com. He is a very interesting guy and seems very down to earth. His design was very ahead of its time and although I do not currently practice product design, he inspires me to start. The portable record player for Braun really is a cool concept to me because he really researched form and function to create something drastically different from what was being made at the time. The Braun design revolutionized product design; when the way objects were being designed and produced weren’t intuitive and thoroughly researched. Dieter Rams recognized the design issues and created solutions that were drastically different and very well received for their ingenuity.
